Costco pricing on the M3 in the US: can one get a better deal?

When I bought my '04 325ci in Dec '03, I paid $1500 below sticker (there were no incentives or special deals on the car). I by-passed the floor sales people, and had the fleet managers from 3 local BMW dealers do a little price wars, and that's what I ended up with. After I gave him the check, I asked the guy if I really got a good deal. He pulled out a folder, turned to a page that said "Costco Pricing" on top, and said I got pretty much what costo referrals get, which he claimed was the rock bottom price. 2 questions:

1. Has anyone been able to beat the costco pricing on a BMW (assuming you were aware of it)?

2. Do you know if they have Costco pricing on M3s (obviously, I don't expect them to give anyone any deals on the new cars for at least 6-9 months, so I am really thinking about a '09 model)?

I heard you have to buy M3 in bulk at Costco. Like a dozen at a time. :-) JK

1) even if costco does eventually sell the new M3 it won't be for quite some time after its release.

2) if your question is what the best price you can get is.... your benchmark shouldn't be costco pricing, but rather invoice.

Are you suggesting that you know of people buying BMWs at invoice? I've haven't seen or heard of such a thing except for the incentives BMW throws in to clean out stock from the previous years or discontinued models.

In my 325ci purchase, I got about $1000 (3%) over invoice, and basically the guy was saying they don't sell cars for less then that unless there is an incentive. I can't imagine an M3 being sold at invoice within 2-3 years of a new model release given the low production numbers.

i don't even really know how to answer this question. your initial post revolved around the issue of whether one could get an M3 at costco pricing, and whether that price could be beaten......... to which i responded that even if costco does eventually sell m3's (and i highly doubt they will) it won't be for quite some time and furthermore that even costco sells at a markup above invoice, so it's feasible to get a deal better than what costco sells at. but none of that is to suggest that getting an m3 near invoice will be likely anytime soon. we won't be seeing prices like that for quite some time.

I was responding to your statement: "your benchmark shouldn't be costco pricing, but rather invoice." Nevermind. I think we are miscommunicating...

the problem with buying from Costco is that they renew the return policy to just 90days, and maybe with a 15% restocking fee

Apparently you can buy an M3 through Sam's club and Costco. I just went to their auto sites. Not sure what the pricing is yet. But I'm very curious. I see this thread is old. Anyone have any experience?

Recommend you also check 2011 M3 pricing with David Aviles at: http://www.eurocarsonline.com/www.eu...id_Aviles.html
Of course as you know, for best pricing use Euro Delivery

I checked two months ago before I ordered my car...I think for '10 M3 it was 1000 over invoice, and for X5M X6M it was something like 500 over invoice. Considering that's a set/no negotiations price, I thought it was pretty good. I don't know about '11 though.

Through my bank's (USAA) car buying program an e92 with these options is $72,955.

Tt says that is $4700 off MSRP, good price? I would have to deal with a dealer 250 miles to get this price. USAA does all of the haggling for me.
