Most driveable tune

Looking for feedback on what is the most drivable tune, and what has the best power overall curve. Not so concerned with peak HP, but more how it functions in everyday driving. Looking at Cobb/ESS/Dinan, etc..

Any input is appreciated.

I've had my Cobb AP installed for about two weeks now- no issues whatsoever with drivability/reliability/consistency. The low end torque that is gained with the tune is very noticeable and the car drives just as good if not better than stock. On top of that, the Cobb also has the ability to datalog/clear CEL codes, so you won't need to buy a BT cable like you would with the Dinan/ESS tune. Cobb has continued to refine their software at no cost to their users and will eventually even offer a "Stage II" map at no cost as well.

Regards,
Joe

Here is another thread on basically the same topic:

Really there just isn't a lot of experience here since the 1M is so new. For a lot more information go to the regular 1 series n54 engine and tuning section. They have a LOT of experience there and it is 99% the same car as ours enginewise. Go here:

We daily drove our previous project 135i with the GIAC Stage 2 with absolutely no problems or hiccups!

The COBB AccessPORT stage 1 is great for a DD as EINSER M mentioned. You'll also be able to download and choose a number of maps and choose the one that suits your driving habits best!

I have been extremely pleased with my ESS tune. It actually improved the drivability of the vehicle while still adding power. More importantly, I have had absolutely no issues with it.

GIAC has been trouble free and used by top tuners for competition for its proven reliability.

Dinan is another good choice for its warranty.

JB4 install took 1 hour by mechanic.
Hidden cable for updates, map changes as well as adjustable exhaust baffle changes on the fly with steering wheel controls (channel up down, volume up down buttons).
Love it!

JB4 is honestly a great product. Terry is extremely customer service oriented, always researching and adding new features to his JB4. The on the fly map switching, fuel - boost gauge monitor and other tweaks are all amazing.

It's definitely a great way to go and its price is right.

Still have my JB, that I uninstalled off my 135i in the garage..

Undecided whether to upgrade the JB or just wait for the flash tunes to evolve.

OETuning's tune is very consistent and very easy to live with. With the tune, it is much smoother than stock even with more hp to the wheels.

I've only had experience with 2 tunes thus far, and my vote goes for the Cobb by far.

Having looked into both of the front runners here, would others agree that
1. Cobb is good for customizability and adaptability to other mods like Fmic and exhaust
2. Ess is good for out of the box improved gains even without any other mods. It seems some had issues when downpipes were added.

Has anyone actually gotten the dinan tune?
