E90 Angel Eyes DRL: Final Word?

Despite reading the many posts regarding angel eyes as DRLs on US-spec E9os, there seems to be no clear answer. I saw suggestions that it might be done by rewiring or by dealer programming, but no definitive solution.

So, is there any way to mod a US E90 to use angel eyes as DRLs - without parking lights - and still have automatic operation of headlights?

I remain puzzled as to why this is a feature of the E92 and euro-spec E90s yet cannot be done on a US E90.

I think i get what you're saying. You just want to use the rings as your DRLs? If so, there's a mod called corner delete mod to take off the light that comes on from the sides. Then you turn off the DRLs in your i-drive and you'll be ringing in the hunnies!

Well, there are answers but they require doing some wiring.
At least 3 others have done it with different approaches.
All require doing wiring. None, that I have seen, can be done with a software update (for US cars). I'm referring to the e90s.

And this wouldn't have the halos running as drls. If you turn off you drls...no lights come on. If you have your parking lights on and the corner delete mod, then you can get just the halos. Am I mistaken on this?

Also, I agree. I kepthearing about the dealer being able to program you drls not to come on, but the halos do (with the ambers too, of course). Anyone know if there any any truth to this? Anyone asked?

I just hate putting the parking lights on, then walking away and forgetting I left them on....

What if you wrap the drls in electrical tape? No codes...
