Help with Ipod

Hi I'm new to the E90 forum.
I just picked up a new 335I and have the usb port in the centre console. I downloaded some new music into my Ipod however when I paly my Ipod the new music does not show up just the previously installed
songs.
So I was wondering if their was anything I should do inorder to get those songs to be able to be played coz I;ve tried searching (Genre, Artist,Tracks etc).
Also I'm using the usb cable provided by my Ipod and not the dealer one. Is that the problem?

Thanks for you support.

Sometimes you need to Shake the iPod a little bit. Just give it a shake like you would a protein drink.

Sometimes the new songs get stuck in an older file tree, shake it a little and they will fall out and be recognized by the BMW.

Otherwise, Dunno what to tell ya. Make certain you are familiar with the iPod and it's functions and how the 6fl recognized songs by artist, playlist, etc.

I'd say it's a problem with the interface and navigating with your iPod though, probably not the 6FL. Just a hunch.

Oh how did you download your music onto your iPod? itunes or something else?

no... the problem is that you're not using the correct cable. you should have received a 6fl cable that connects directly to the ipod and the usb port as well as the aux in. Without that your car will only play standard MP3, not the AAC files downloaded from itunes.

I believe in CA you will have to pay for the cable from the dealer.

There's a better answer, and prolly the correct one as well.

+1. Spot on. You need the proper cable, and just in case you're squeemish about buying it, the sound quality will be much better too.

YEP, You need the correct cable that the dealer should be able to get for you. My dealer had to have it overnighted. They are suppose to come with the vehicle.
