Transmission cooler at the bottom of the radiator fan
Is the cooler attached to the fan shroud? I am trying to remove mine, but it seems that the cooler wants to come out with it. Is it attached?

It is held on to the fan shroud by one screw, that you have to come up from the bottom to remove. (drop the belly pan). At least that is the way on my 355i.

I am not sure how it broke. The car was making a whiring noise, so I popped the hood to check it out and found the tensioner bolt was broken.
I posted in this thread on that matter: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=627158 Honestly, it should be an easy job, assuming your bolt is intact |

That helps! I suppose I need to break down and get the Bentley Manual on it. Does not help that I have about 30 min a day to mess with it too.

That was it. Damn there are a lot of screws on that under carriage cover! Also, snapped the clip on the driver side of the radiator . I will have to rig it with a zip tie or something. Not too big of deal. Got the tensioner out too!
