Just read that the 8AT for the F30 changes gears in 200ms... compares quite well to the optimum 150ms for DSG and way ahead of the unprepared DSG shift time of around 1100ms.
Just wondering whether anyone has a shift time for the E90's 6AT... and the E46's 5AT... I can't seem to find this data easily. The new ZF 8AT is sort of proving that you don't need fancy DSG style tech (with all the reliability issues it offers) when development of the more conventional AT is ongoing... |

watch a video of the car driving and look at how fast the RPM needle shifts. to get a general idea in the mean time
