windshield has lots of dots on a sunny day

I need to some how polish it. It is extremely annoying especially when the sun comes through and I see thousands of them.

Any tips on a product I could get to get them out?

Thanks!

Clay may remove some of it but whatever it doesnt get off will be small stone chips. You'll have to resurface the glass to remove these. Look into Diamondite glass products as they make a resurfacing kit with all that you need if you have a buffer.

I have this too, I think that BMW glass is softer than other manufacturers? I've lived with it for about 3 years and it's really only a problem in very bright light.

Uhh.. well anyway I called my insurance company, I have full glass coverage with no deductible. They seem to have no problem changing it... so they going to change it tomorrow.

It's normal, my windshield looks like the surface of the moon in direct sunlight.

Me too. Same issue. Its not that big of a deal but nothing like having a spotless windshield. I will look into it. I need to do my windshield and also re surface my headlights. After that i am set to a STILL great looking 330i!!

of course, none of US would ever do this, but...you could whack it with a rock and then let your insurance replace it with brand new, crystal clear OEM glass...but it would just look the same again in a couple years anyway!

Or find a gravel quarry and spend some time tailgating their trucks -- you would probably get lucky after a while.

Then have a new windshield put in, and run the risk of leaks.
Uhh...no thanks.

Your windshield is "pitted" after many miles of driving (highway?). Replacing it solves your problem. Use a recommended glass shop that is used to working on e90's. I did this 2.5 yrs ago and it's been fine. No more blinding glare and no leaks. Get it done.

I wonder if there is a north American version of our windshields?

Mine had hundreds of pits, replaced it with OEM glass and it is pitting again. Something to do with European pedestrian safety/softer impact glass.

Will look for a north American made windshield next time and see if there is a difference as it isn't pedestrian friendly.

They just replaced it. Looks really good. I had it replaced on my subaru from basketball damage. Never had problems or leaks.

I have this issue too. I'm gonna try the clay bar approach and see what happens.

Mine is AWEFUL. I clayed it and it didn't do anything. Most people say polishing might be too difficult.

Get back to us in about two years bro lol...
So did you replace it with OEM glass, or "American" glass?
