Time for new turbos? Sounds like bird chirping...
Lately I have been hearing things on the freeway (80mph), 3k rpm... slight whistling.
Today, on a sunny socal day, I rolled down the windows and begin to drive the vehicle. Immediately, I hear what sounds like literally birds chirping in my engine bay. I am not hearing things. being that my car is stick shift, it is easily reproduced from 2krpm rev up or down to 500rpm. Anyone had this issue? I already had the wastegate replaced from the dealership. This whistling really sounds like birds chirping... and it is proportionally tied to the rpm of the engine. Rev up and rev down its like...er er er er er er er . |

could also be your belt tensioner.
Mine will start doing that if I let it sit for a long period of time (several weeks without really driving it much) i was going to replace my tensioner until I went on a 3hr highway trip with my wife/kids. When I arrived at the hotel, I noticed my car was silent. It was fine ever since. Before I parked it for the winter, it started again (I rarely drive my car) |
