Great to hear but by the time they roll it out, I will most likely have switched from android to ios now that my provider offers Iphones.

I wish people would stop referring to android as DROID...it is incorrect...DROID is a brand by MOTOROLA..

I believe the IOS app is available in UK but not in US. I would assume Android will be the same. Probably some US BMW lawyer won't allow it in the US.

Actually, DROID is a Verizon brand, thus the DROID Charge I purchased this summer that was manufactured by Samsung.

You are correct, VZW uses the term Droid under license from Lucasfilm.

Back to the original topic, so BMW is going to offer what GM owners have been doing for how long? LOL

Although I do hope it happens, I just don't see it as a reality especially when BMW solely promoted the iPhone with its vehicles.

it is kind of stupid but bmw assist (since forever) had this type of control of the car, why can't the app have that?

I just downloaded the iOS app from the UK. Just go to iTunes and click on the uK flag in lower right corner, create a username and download the app to your phone.

U can flash lights, lock unlock etc...
