Tachometer question
Hey guys,
This is quite an embarrassing question and I\'m usually pretty good at figuring out a cars lil hidden features, but I\'m stumped? How the F do you reset your trip? Mine has Reset after doing 1k, not sure how or why but that\'s what happened. I\'m trying to manually calculate my avg mpg and this issue isn\'t helping! Bring on the flaming! |

That's crazy, I've never noticed any pins...lol I'll have to check this out.
It's a 2008 335i. This whole time I've been scrolling thru the menu by pushing in that lil button that says DC on it or w/e. (on the left/right turn signal bar) once I got to the km range I was pressing and holding and nothing happened. I'll look for lil pins, guess its like every other old school car in that sense. |

Far left side of the cluster, lower left corner. Black post about 1/2cm...push in quickly and release to reset the odometer.
Cheers D.

The trip odometer only displays up to 999.9 so that's why it "reset" after 1000. See DnA's post above to reset it manually.

I saw the thread title "tachometer question" and then a question about how to reset something, so allow me to be the first smart-ass to offer:
"If you want to reset your tachometer to 0, turn the engine off." Hope this helps.

I'm always learning new stuff about my car, even though I've gone through the manual a few times. Just re-learned about locking out the trunk release button via the glovebox switch.
Cheers D.
