Do cars try to race you in your BMW?

Just curious about this...If so, what are the most common ones?

Rarely. But when it happens it's usually some junk Civic.

Haha, not often, but one late night an old A4 wanted to race on the freeway.

Rarely anyone tries to race me, compared to my vr6 gti that I had in the past, everyone used to try to race me. I guess it was the exhaust and the whole modded look. But then again maybe people know that when they see separate dual pipes in the back of a 3 series it means don't f**k with it.

Had maybe 5 people total in the past 3 years. I really don't like to race on the street anyway. I really don't try to provoke anyone else to race either. Not saying that I never have, but I'd rather not.

I can attest to that, its like other drivers expect a BMW to always speed excessively. When I just go with the flow they tailgate?

Almost never. Few days ago a 745 tried. My assumption is they were just BMW fans and were curious. I gave them a good show.

Many more tailgaters, than with any other car I've ever driven. I usually just blast them with rear fogs now.

If you drive faster than everyone else, this won't be a problem.

haha, i was sitting at the light the other day and this STI, it was like an 04 05 (LOUD exhaust) on it starts revvin his car up at the light, so I'm like yeah i know youll get the jump on me i have rear wheel drive, but the light turns green, i had traction off, nice sunny day out, and we take off he jumps of the line, and by 2nd gear im back with him and after 70mph i was moving on him like he was parked. my car isnt stock though i was running Jb stage 2 w/ DCI from bms. oh and another younger kid in a audi a6 2.7t s-line on the highway, 65-140mph, i left him about 6-7 car lengths behind and pissed him off with my hazards afterwards.

I was following an old civic on the onramp a few months back. You could tell he was gunning it based on that rubber-band squeal those wonderful vtecs give off. I wasn't even on the throttle and I pass him a little later on the freeway and he's all trying to act tough. A few weeks later he recognized my car at the parking lot where I work and he left a note on my windshield saying how my "bimmer was shit and vtecs rule". I honestly was in disbelief:

1) How he could possibly look at his car and say it rules and
2) He was actually under the impression that I was attempting to race him

There will always be the punks out there who want to race you just cause you're in a bimmer.
