How long did you shop to find the perfect BMW ?

How long did you shop to find the perfect BMW ?

Just wondering, some packages or options can be very rare and depends on location. Were you in a hurry to buy or waited to get the best deal possible ?

I bought my jet black 2008 328i on impulse.... I couldn't resist the interest rate (.9%) and reduced price. After driving it a couple of years, I realized what I wanted in a BMW, however -- lighter color, more options, leather seats, and a convertible.

I bought my titanium silver 2011 328ic on impulse. It was meant for me I think. It's everything I wanted without exception when I went to the dealer to look for it. The dealer gave me a decent trade in for the 2008 so it all just felt right. No regrets.

So to answer you question I shopped for one day on each vehicle.

I bought new because I was adamant about pretty much every option. I wasn't willing to go without any options I wanted, for the options I didn't want I wasn't really willing to pay more for any of them on a car that had them, and I wouldn't budge on my color/trim choices. The fact that I wanted 6MT on top of everything else would've made it even harder to find what I wanted; BMW of Austin didn't have a single 6MT M3 on the lot. I would've thought that at least with the M3 they'd have at least ONE manual, but apparently not.

1 hour to find it.

decided to buy around 10am on a Saturday morning when my winter beater bimmer (e36) needed its emissions test, and didn't want to pony up the $80 for an e-test in case it failed.

went on autotrader. search for an e90 with 6MT, sport, premium, closest to my house. found one 2 blocks away. (literally, could walk to his house). by noon I put a $1000 deposit on it. next day mechanic gave his approval, and checked the carfax. following day it was my possession.

Decided I wanted one on a Saturday, bought one sight unseen over the internet Tuesday off of BMW's CPO list. Never sat in one or drove one before buying. Just bought it.

took me about a month. I wanted a stick but all the sticks had no options so I settled for an auto. If I were to buy new I'd for sure order one.

about 10 minutes .. (seriously, and it was only to look) .. my friend bought a 08 335xi and I thought "I wonder what a used 335i would go for" and the rest is history.

I'm actually an Audi fan. lol

Went to a shitty dealer to test drive and possibly buy a Lexus IS350 the salesmen didn't take me serious and thought I was jerkin his chain. Ended up going to the BMW dealer and saw a montego blue 335i and had to have it. They treated me like a customer.

So i bought it the same day.
