Misfire Problem 2008 3351 e90 (no mods)

OBDII detected:P0303 Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected, P0301 Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected

SES not illuminated and would not have known of problem if I did not scan. I changed spark plugs (20k miles with new), but same codes. I then replaced coils in 1 and 3 with new coils andengine ran very rough trigerring SES. Reinstaled old coils and it runs smooth again with same misfire codes.

Any suggestions?

New spark plugs did not eliminate misfire codes. New coils made misfire much worse and tripped SES.
Any recommendation on identifying and correcting the problem?
