Are 07's really littered with problem.
My local dealer has a 07 335i coupe has everything my wife wants, it for $23,000 has 25,xxx miles, 1 owner, and a clean carfax. But I'm a little hesitant because ive heard that 07's have an ASSSSS of problems. Any advice from 07 owners would be great.

I have an 07 sedan, loaded up with everything but comfort access and heated steering wheel. Have almost 80,000 on it. The biggest problems are HPFP going out and this is covered for ten yrs or 120k miles. It's just a car, if you like it then go for it. I have two kids now and this is the best car for the money. Loads of power, looks fantastic, handles as well as any sports coupe; want a car with an ASSSSS load of problems, get an Audi A6 3.0, as soon as I hit 48,000 and was about to be out of warranty, I got rid of that car. Anyway, that's my experience

have had my 07 for three years. Never had HPFP go bad on me. Some say they have stronger internals.

Sounds like a good deal. Is there an extended warranty?

I've had my '07 for over a year now almost 45K miles on it. No comfort access. Haven't had an HPFP fail. Full bolt ons JB4 map2 for the last 3 months. I can only think of one problem I've ever had, seatbelt assist not catching the belt. Other than that great power, gas mileage is awesome on road trips I can make it just over 500 miles on one tank. So much fun to drive wether you're just cruising, especially getting a little sideways. I get compliments on it ALL the time. All boils down to I wouldn't have any problems picking up another '07 just cause of the year.

I've had my 2007 since August 2007. It has 57k miles and I haven't had any mechanical problems. Just normal maintenance stuff. It's been tuned since about 5k miles. I had my original HPFP replaced at 43k miles due to the recall, even though there was never any problem with it. They also replaced 3 ignition coils at the same time and all 6 spark plugs, but I count that as normal maintenance. They did all that while I had an intake and my MS downpipes installed.

I have an '07 335i coupe with ~60,000 miles on it. No HPFP issues or anything major really. Biggest complaints were squeaking brakes which were fixed by the dealer and just general rattling from the back ashtray/AC area. Well, and I want the newer idrive...

Another late 06 build 335i with 65k miles and no problems. First HPFP lasted about 58k before dealership changed it. No other problems.

is it from bmw dealership or just some used car dealer? cause that price seems to be too low for such mileage and from bmw dealership. You better check the services history too, or atleast get a mechanic inspect it if its from used car dealer, lots of stuff doesn't show up on carfax.
my 07 still running strong 40k miles with no problem. |

Get the service records. See what problems it has had
Overall, besides the HPFP issues which are under warranty anyway, my 07 had 66,000 miles on it, and the only issue was 2 rear light bulbs, 1 angel eye bulb, and thats it. It had 4 HPFP, 3 before I bought it with 50K miles on it, about every 15K, then it had recall while I owned it, though it never had a issue. |

That price seems a little low for the mileage though, it should be closer to $25K at least...
Have a paint meter run on the body work, it could of been a wreck and get a BMW 150pt inspection, see whats about to fail and what work can be detected. Carfax dont mean beans...you can wreck a car and it not be reported in many states, and also a private party can make the repair if no police involved... |

imho a BMW is a risk--being on the forum since the E92 came out, it's not scientific. Some cars are problem-free, some had problems that the dealership couldn't fix on the first try, was a struggle, and now it's fixed (mine), and some for whatever reason can't be fixed and are lemons.
The only thing I can see is that if you've had the car for a few years, you know it, good or bad. When you walk into a seemingly "good deal" but it's someone else's car, I don't think there's any way to tell how it's going to perform. I think a CPO is a must--the last thing you want is to face thousands in repairs right off the bat (the old had my car 4.5 months now and it's been at the dealer 37 days threads). The one thing I know is almost anybody would be glad to drive a BMW, so if the deal seems too good to be true, it is. A used car with a spotless record is particularly suspect--you want it to have broken under the previous owner and fixed under that owner. You don't want it to break once you've gotten it. g/l |
