Exclamation Tuned | 2012 CLS63 - 670.HP & 714.TQ

Just read this article on what to expect from a tuned CLS63. Hope to see this kind of potential from the F10 M5, otherwise the CLS is on my list for the near future.

Quote:
MIAMI — December 13, 2011 — Through careful remapping of the factory ECU and countless hours of testing, Velos Designwerks is pleased to announce the release of its performance software for the M157 AMG 5.5 Liter Biturbo V8 Engine. Producing an astounding 535 hp and 560 lb-ft off of the assembly line, the Velos Designwerks engineering team has been able to increase this powerplant’s output to 670 hp and 714 lb-ft of torque (SAE Corrected).

The Velos Designwerks CLS63 Performance Software involves a remapping of several of the factory’s ECU maps including, but not limited to, the fuel maps, throttle maps, ignition maps, and limiters. With this 29% increase in horsepower and over 20% increase in torque, the AMG 5.5 Liter Engine’s true potential is now unleashed.

While there are and will be other options available on the market, the Velos Designwerks Custom ECU Tune for the C218 AMG 5.5 Liter V8 Biturbo Engine produces real gains throughout the powerband that one can realistically expect to duplicate on their own.

Performance Figures:
Horsepower Gain: 110 hp (94 hp to the wheels)
Torque Gain: 149 lb-ft (126 lb-ft to the wheels)
Gains taken from a sample of runs done on the same dyno in 90+ degree conditions.

BMW will probably have their ecu on lock down like the N54 in the beginning. I am sure some piggybacks will show up early.

I dont think youll get quite the same type of power out of a 4.4 liter as you will from the 5.5 in the merc.
All of these cars can produce crazy power numbers. Panamera turbos have been at 700+ hp levels for a long time now and they put the power down far better than the m5 and e63 and handle better too.

Ridiculous numbers... I wonder how a tuned F10 M5 will stack up; my guess is it won't do as hot but we'll see.

the whole concept of tuning and squeezing this much out is fucking ridiculous. How the dastardly fuck is that possible?

Holy Christ. What The. Do Want. M5 probably can make those numbers, but it will never sound like that.

i think all that power/tq is useless because the two rear wheels won't provide enough traction. this car need awd to effectively put all that power down.

Wow...

Aside from the price that is stopping me from buying one of these badboys, do they offer a manual transmission?
