Has anyone had an encounter where a fellow citizen warned you that the up coming turn would be a state trooper sitting there trapping people's speed . just today some guy flashed his lights at the opposite traffic (not knowing what the heck for) , warning everyone that the pig is waiting around the corner to ruin someones day. Unfortunately the guy ahead of me didn't figure out the warning and ended up getting pulled over

i will flash my lights at opposing traffice for like a mile letting them kno.....i do my best to thwart cops giving tickets to people, especially on the highway.

Have you ever thought that some of those "pigs" you refer to are on the blog as well. I have been a state trooper in Illinois for 22 years. I probably have more time in the bathroom than you are old. Don't talk about someone unless you have walked a mile in my shoes. Try knocking on a door at three in the morning and tell a family member that someone isn't coming home because of some asshat driving like an idiot. I really could care a less how you drive. I do care when someone drives like an idiot and kills some innocent person.

werd cause speeding tickets are just revenue generators.

i've had it done to me, i try to do it back.

If i'm speeding and my V1 warns me for laser or radar, i slam brakes, sometimes the cops see that you respected them and won't chase you, instead chase the oblivious speeder who's not paying attention.

My school of thought has always been "slam your brakes, draw attention to yourself, ensure yourself a pull-over."

i think we're talking about going 5-10 miles per hour over the speed limit. not 30.

and yes, i do it as well especially to modified cars.

Careful, in some states it's against the law to warn other people that a cop is waiting for them. I get that cops have a tough job - I don't care for the fact that to them, every citizen is a criminal and needs to be treated like one. Demand respect and earn respect are two different things.

don't get me wrong there are plenty of cops out there doing whats best for everyone but this ST specifically has pulled over someone more than i can remember for the smallest things . too those cops that make sure the people around them are safe i applaud them but too others that solely want to have position in power are the ones i refer too as pigs .

I don't mind his comment about the flashing light thing. Works for me. I get paid no matter how much I write. In Illinois, most of the money goes to the county we write the citation in, not to us. I'd much rather catch some moron with a load of dope and take his car, house, and put his ass in jail for a long time. Plus, if you come by me at five or ten over the limit, just wave as you go by. The "pig" comment always has pissed me off, even before I was a Trooper.

As i mentioned about cops wanting position in power. i hate seeing an addict getting stripped of his life (House, car,etc) because of something they're addicted too.. i can say for myself because this cop tried to take away my 335i because i had xx amount of dope on me. (fortunetely i'm clean now)

My only ticket I got was going 50 in a 45, over a hill to a cop sitting there. Behind him, a 35 mph sign. Guess who was speeding? He told me that once you have visual of the posted speed limit you must slow down. Even though I could not see the damn sign behind a hill.

He looked at me in my car and said

" looks like you can afford this so I'm going to write you a ticket. It will teach you to slow down, I have a daughter, I'd hate for her to be in an accident from a careless driver"

I have never been so angry.

@eric335 I about lost it. I was tired driving home from work and went a weird way home to avoid traffic from road construction on my usual commute, so I did not know the area.
