I think you have to remove the engine and the drivetrain.

Nope, just have to remove the tire, fender liner, washer tank and then replace the hose. Don't forget to get new plastic rivits to replace the ones you have to cut off. Or you can opt to leave them off if you'd like. Just leaves a bit of a gap but not a huge concern.

How do you know you need a new hose? My tank does not hold fluid, but I have not looked into it enough to know if it is a crack in the tank, a bad hose, or a bad seal somewhere.

I too ran into an issue with my tank not holding fluid.
Mine was leaking from this pic below and it ended up being the washer pump that was leaking, not the tank or the hose. |

Mine looks like it leaks in a different location. It is more towards the front of the car.

Our 2006 325i leaked washer fluid at the front of the car. Dealer replaced leaking nozzles in the headlight washers.

Has anyone had any updates or news on this thread? This weekend I discovered that the tube that goes to the reservoir tank is CRACKED and need to replace on my own. Any help would be much appreciated...

I have not done anything with mine yet. Mine will hold a little fluid, but I cant fill it up too much or some spills out. Its just to cold these days to be in my garage during the weekend.

my filler tube has a crack in it but its near the very top just below the black fill cap... think it would be a problem if i just used some 2 part plastic epoxy to seal the crack up instead of going through all the steps to replace the actual pipe?
