Randy Pobst doesnt like 1 M at all.

Motor Trend just tested a bunch of pretty hot cars including 1M. Pobst complained about brakes, understeer etc etc. Actually said he hates the car!
I thought everyone loved it?

Who cares about 1 persons opinion? It's not like his decision dictates what the world believes.

I'm sure the car performs great but I reallllly don't like how they look personally.

Bottom line is, it doesn't matter who likes the car just so long as the person buying and driving it does.

I read this issue of Motor Trend and compared to the other cars the 1M was against in this showdown I would agree.

Randy Pobst sounds like a point-and-shoot driver from the comments he's made in magazines. He started off autocrossing, which is not what most factory race engineers have in mind when they set up suspensions. He likes the shocks hard and squares off corners to lengthen straights. To each his own. Just because he doesn't like the 1M doesn't mean much. He's a fine driver, but his style doesn't fit that sort of setup.

That and the Bosch DSC is designed with the most ham-fisted drivers in mind. It was not designed from the ground up as race-bred traction control, merely an exceptional street and track capable system. It does intervene more than many high end and pro drivers are accustomed to.

If you take away the word Cabriole and put convertible does it still make it a girl's car?

Motor Trend reviews SUVs and Trucks...so much for their credibility in judging a performance car.

Car and Driver reviews MRAAPs, fire trucks, one-off 4x4 hunting platforms, mining dump trucks, and other non-performance car vehicles. Does that mean their absolute love for the 3-Series (which they editorially admit to) is bogus too; or, is it just when a magazine doesn't pawn all over a beloved BMW you have to invalidate them with some nonsensical comment?

I had a chance to drive a 1M & the car certainly had more capability then I do. I originally ordered a regular 135i for PCD early this summer. Do to numerous delays & bought a 335is from the dealers lot in the same color combo, gray/red, & most of the options (7DCT) I had ordered in the 135i.

Recently I parked next too my exact car in a 135i envelope & came away very happy that I went with the 335is. It just held together visually so much better then the 135i IMHO.

Seems to me your comment is more nonsensical. I call them as I see them. Motor Trend doesn't impress me; Road and Track, on the other hand, focuses on the TYPE of car I like, not necessarily the brand. So yeah, I'm invalidating them with my informed comment, rather than denigrating another poster's comments with some not-so-informed remark. You probably like Consumer Reports too, I'd wager.
