Leatherette Pics Request

Has anyone taken delivery of a car with leatherette? I'd like to see some good pictures of this. Any will do, but I'd really like a picture of the sport seats in black 'ette.

I've heard that the e90 'ette is sensatec, which is different from the 'ette found in the e46.

Here are some leatherette pics from e60 5-series. Looks pretty good to me. I bet lots of people wouldn't even be able to tell the difference if you didn't point it out.

Because here it's called Sensatec. I ordered it as well
Having had 2 BMWs with leather sportseats I thought it was too expensive to go for it again, so just plain sportseats with cloth. But then the dealer said:" Robin, why don't you take sensatec as a substitute, you can't tell it from real leather almost, for only 184 euros."

I said yes

LMAO - I'm personally getting the 'ette. Had leather seats (have 'em now actually) and it's a PITA keeping them clean + they'll probably fade & crack in 5 years no matter how anal retentative I am. I've seen some old BMW 'ette seats - still look good after 6+ years. Care & cleaning consists of the occasional damp cloth, car vac along with everything else inside and an Armour-All(R) wipe if you've got a minute between innings. No brainer - and literally most people couldn't tell it wasn't leather even if you told them.

My dog is fine, thank you.

And no you wonīt.

There wonīt be an E90 Coupe. The designation for the new 3 Coupe is E92.

Besides. For all I know Iīll be driving a Carrera one day. But who cares. What you drive now is more interesting...

firstly I wouldnt go around boasting about what you are going to be driving next, it doesnt gain you respect or kudos with the people on these forums, and I along with everyone else could no doubt boast about what im driving now or will be driving in the future.

Secondly I wrote e90 coupe before I found it was the E92. Eithier way Iv paid my Ģ1000 pound deposit and cant wait till my car arrives hopefully before my 21st :rocks:

And finally how old are you??

Relax guys. Let's not let things get nasty around here. Sit back, open a nice brew and everyone can discuss things civilly without getting personal

Iīll join in on the brew.

First please let me say that all I posted was in good humor. If youīd seen me posting, youīd have seen me smiling. Unfortunatly writen statements are easy to misread.

I was mearly making fun of the fact that you put E90coupe under "drives".

It is impossible because, as we all know
- There 3 coupe is going to be the E92
- Itīs not available jet

So putting it not only in the profile but actually chosing your nick for it is hillarious to me. Sorry you didnīt see that I simply couldnīt resist the joke.

And once one is on the wrong track...: I also was kidding about the Carrera. I couldnīt afford one and I wouldnīt want one (Well I donīt know, Iīm not in a position to think about it) My next car is going to be a measly E90...

But your statement
>firstly I wouldnt go around boasting about what you are going to be driving next, it doesnt gain you respect or kudos with the people on these forums, and I along with everyone else could no doubt boast about what im driving now or will be driving in the future.<

Really kills me

Isnīt that EXACTLY what your doing ?

Please tell me you can see the humor in this thread. If you put down pounds as a deposit, you should be blessed with that legendary british sense of humor. "Just donīt mention the war..."

The leatherette in these pictures is beige. The only reddish brown is called Terra and that is only available in leather as far as I know.

Correction: beige or black leatherette--the only colors of leatherette available in the U.S. Terra is leather.

I was going to get grey leather on my 330i but I figured since my wife or myself could not really tell the difference I would rather save 1500 bucks, lol

so I went with the leatherette

When I went to the dealer you can't see the difference. You can feel the difference though. Leather is much softer feeling. Leatherette is soft also much it more harder. It is extremely hard to tell the difference because the leatherette in the bmw feels more like leather than the leather in my acura.

Exclamation Pictures found!!!

Here it comes guys! I have a Jet Black 330 with black "ette"-interior on order so I too wanted to see some "real" pictures. Ok - so the lazy bastard who took the pictures didn't unwrap the front seats for the shots... but what are you going to do? Sigh... looks good though!
