The "invisible" curb stop scenario. Opinions please.

Live and learn....

Scenario: Four months ago, I’m driving through a parking garage with my sunglasses on (bad idea!) and decided to take a short cut. Well, I end up driving completely over an “invisible” curb stop. The curb stop’s cross section is trapezoidal-shaped and about four inches high. I hit it perfectly straight on (i.e., both tires were pointing straight and both hit the curb stop the same time) driving about 10 miles per hour. My front bumper cleared the curb stop. I bottomed out a bit but did zero visible damage to the front bumper, the undercarriage or side skirts. Alignment is perfect and has remained perfect to this day (four months have passed).

Question: Did I damage anything? If so, what?

Thanks in advance.

I would have just kept this to myself. No damage, except now you've told the world you pulled an accidental bone-head move.

I think that if you did any damage it would've surfaced immediately. However, keep an eye on your wheels/tires for bubbles and/or cracks.

- There's no visible damage to the front bumper
- There's no visible damage to the undercarriage
- There's no visible damage to the side skirts
- Alignment is perfect

I think you need a new car. At the very least, you need a new body kit, new suspension, and new wheels/tires.

OP here -

LOL. Just being the typical anal, obsessive, new BMW owner. I want to forget this entire thing and think it never happened. You guys are making that possible. Thanks so far for your responses....

And no sign of bubbles in the tires or bent wheels. I think I lucked out....

I'm not sure how anal you are if you waited 4 months to "worry" about it.

& a new engine & trans. To be safe, reinforce the frame while it's in the shop.

the e93 front bumper cleared it?? wth. when my e92 was stock height the bottom of the bumper would still scrape the curb stop.
