My 335is is getting the hpfp replaced as I type and multiple misfires and bad coil packs as well. Never had a long crank, nothing more than rough idle maybe 6 times. This morning there the misfires were beyond awful and the car wouldn't stop rapidly puffing out white smoke. 18k miles woohoo. This is just starting to get fun.

f me running, are you serious?! the new 335is's are still having hpfp issues?
BMW should just team up with Bosch and use a variant of the Bosch 044 fuel pump in these BMW's. Problem solved. Sorry but wow, this does not give me very much confidence in BMW's ability to solve simple fuel supply issues. There is no acceptable reason for this problem to be recurring anymore. Sorry about your bad luck, i'm obviously not happy to hear about it either. |

Spacers, oem m3 spoiler and painted reflectors. Lol. I'm stock.
I find it odd that I had no long cranks though. Other than the rough idle on about 6 mornings, the car has been flawless from an engine perspective. |

Oh no! 4000 miles here...no problems so far. But I do recall a couple of other posts on this forum of HPFP issues with the is. Keep us posted.

The damage was the HPFP. That was the first thing they swapped out. No idea what the pn is for it but I have all the fault codes thrown in my car on the paper. I can post em up if anyone is truly interested.
One ignition coil was bad and all 6 injectors were soaked with fuel and weren't working properly so those were replaced as well. I'm sure not all 6 injectors would have gone bad if I took it in immediately after the first signs of a hiccup. Car runs fine now, exactly as before. Anyone know the chain reaction of what part failure led to the subsequent failures? My driving style over the total 18,900 miles on my car resulted in 14.9 avg mpg. I am heavy on the gas frequently, however I don't really ever pass 6k rpms. I have probably done hard acceleration with the sport button engaged maybe a total of 12 times and launch control 4 times. No track, 90% city driving. Definitely no abuse on the car. |

I drive with the Sport button on all the time. When the car reaches norm temps I then go to Sport mode, and then manual drive.
On cold starts, I never pull off until the idle completely settles I have maxed out top speed 4 times, the car does WOT at least 3 times a week, and does over 100 mph at least 3 times a week, Used LC about 6 times I put about 100 miles a day on my car averaging about almost 2500 miles a month So technically I am a road warrior I drag my car at least 2 times a month and I feed it 100 1/4 oct mix twice a month. |

That's really unfortunate dude. Even more so because I want to get one. On the bright side I've heard the is's see this HPFP problem less frequent. Wonder if the started you on the better pump? The 933 or w/e it's called. Let us know if you have any other issues, I'd sure be interested in finding out how reliable that car really is.
