Dakar Yellow 3 Series?

I ran across this car on Autotrader.com. 2011 E92 M3 in Dakar Yellow. I'm assuming it's an optional factory color...but I've never seen one before! Love it or hate it, who has ever heard of this color being offered?

i LOVE it. Don't like the chrome grills with it though, they need to be black. I have seen a few e9X's with Dakkar yellow, but i think it's BMW indiv. color-

It would be a little too loud for my tastes, but it could look bitchin' with some custom glossy black wheels with a matching yellow lip, yellow calipers and all the chrome removed and replaced with CF accents (mirror covers, spoiler) and glossy black exhaust tips. I think this color (or similar) is on some E46 M3s; they wear it better IMO. Plus, a used (albeit lightly) M3 for $69K???

Haha, I've seen that very car personally at Vista. I think it looks great although it's been there for a while and I believe it is a special factory option.

Black wheels and we have a winner.

I think there was one posted on here before with black wheels, grills, and other accents. It looked much better than this one, but still not anything I'd consider...

I think the opposite, people who appreciate BMW tradition love dakar yellow, it's a classic color for e36 M3

generally, for any image you see on a web page, you can right click on the image and choose "save image as" and then save the picture to a folder or your desktop, then upload the picture by browsing to whatever folder you saved the picture to

My favorite color, I had a 99 E36 M3 in Dakkar yellow and its by far the best bmw I've owned. Its one of those colors that you either hate it or love it. Im one of those guys thats tired of the same black gray or white. I need colors at least make it unique.

yea thats a good one, lots of good free programs out there. I'm just giving him some tips on saving images without having to find and install anything. so that we never have to look at a camera phone picture of a computer screen again

That's a HOT color! I think BMW needs to get back to offering up more color in the 3 series line ups. I'm not a fan of any of the shades of blue or red that are currently offered. Personally I think they should make Laguna Seca Blue a standard color, and bring this dakar yellow back as well. The titanium silver these days just doesn't have that sparkle that a nice silver paint job should have, and don't get me started on the space gray, its so dull I can't see why anyone likes it at all. Alpine white has only started to look good on BMW's since the E46 coupes, and that's only if there wasn't any black door fenders like on the sedans or the E36's. Why NOT have some color?
