Best shocks for Eibach Pro Kit

Just as the title states.

I have a 2011 335xi sedan and want to have a subtle drop and have decided the Eibach Pro-kit is the best option for me. I don't know what shocks/struts are best to buy?

I have had Koni's in the past on other cars and loved them, are they available for the e90xi? Or is the Bilstein the only shock option available without looking at a full coilover setup.

Thanks,

Eibach and Bilstein is a great combination. IMHO. I plan to do exactly that to my car. That combo is proven to be reliable, it's not extreme, and affordable.

modacar.com might have it.

2006-2010 BMW 325i / 328i / 330i Sedan E90 Eibach Pro-System-Plus 2085.680
Product ID : EIB-2085.680
$1,678.65
Sale Price: $989.00

It's not your car but I think that's a good low price. There might be similar packages.

Koni Yellow's are now available for xi. I'd personally get the Koni's as their stiffness is adjustable

The thing is, it's special order only so you have to wait quite a while after ordering.

If I am getting something, I really want to get the right set-up and would be happy to wait....so ordering is not an issue.

I just don't want to spend $2000 on coilovers and then another couple hundred for install and have the same results as a spring-shock combo....especially since I will never track the car, coilovers are a waste of $$$

I contacted Koni a couple months ago and they didn't have fronts and said they did not expect to make them. Has that changed? Can't imagine they would come out with an app this late.

I have Bil sport eibach combo. Stiff despite soft springs. Works good, but there are other items to address such as rear sway bar. Plus, with xi the lowering may not be enough for your taste.

I have a set of kw v3 just factory rebuilt. Will let those go for 950.

One other question....what is the ride quality of Eibachs with Bilsteins on stock run flats?

Is it really firm? Too harsh of a feel to make it comfortable for highway cruising or driving around in the city?

Bilsteins are the way to go - superb performance with zero issues on about 5K of driving so far.

How harsh or soft is the ride?

Lots of potholes and poor road repairs around here

Does anyone have the spring rates for the Eibachs? Are they progressive?

I'm between the koni and the bilsteins, with the eibachs at this point. WOuld like to pull the trigger for the spring time.

Dont do this if you dont have to! I upgraded to Eibachs and Bilstein sports as well as going to 18s with Summer Non-RFTs and the car rides, handles, and sits beautifully. I switched back to stock 17s with RFTs last winter and it was BRUTAL in PA. Felt like I was driving on 17" hockey pucks. Potholes felt like the shock was gonna come through the fender! This year I switched my RFT on my 17s to dedicated winter NON-RFT and the car is down right soft now...lol I know that is the trade off for dedicated winter tires.

you really have to consider the wheels/tire combo you are running as well. People seem to discount how harsh your ride can become regardless of your suspension set up.

Going with a low profile over 18 is going to make anything harsh.. especially *brick* flats
