Weird Knocking sound

I recently had the performance exhaust installed (really nice) so now i'm driving with the radio off and windows down a lot more. I noticed a knock that seems to come from the rear which occurs when your quickly press or depress the gas. won't happen if you press slowly. doesn't happen with weight shifts from pressing and releasing the brake. I took the car back to the place that installed the exhaust to check installation and there was no problems there. I'm just curious if anyone else has this issue, or is it a natural sound that i just never noticed because my radio is never off. any help would be appreciated. BTW i drive a 6MT
