Help a 5-er: Rough Idle, Oil Consumption

2006 530i with an N52 and 124k. I know we have a forum and a ton of sites for E60s, but you guys have the best advice when it comes to N52s. I've searched through the forums but I still need input on these two issues:

1. RPM play during idle. Suspecting vacuum leak but I don't know where to look anymore. I've changed the crankcase breather hose. Should I move on to the camshaft position sensor?

2. Oil Consumption is killing me; 1 quart every 800-1000 miles, NO LEAKS?! I had the valve cover gasket taken care of and the cylinder head bolts are good. I just can't find a leak anywhere and the oil level sensor is accurate (I measured the oil on my last change, 5.6 quarts, about 1.5 short). Should I suspect it burning oil or something?

I'd really appreciate any suggestions on these issues. The various 5 series sites just aren't as helpful as you guys are.

Check the oil filter housing gasket.

Clean the MAF sensor.
New Air filter.
Run fuel injector cleaner through your gas tank. run it super concentrated. 1/2 tank for the smaller bottle.
New spark plugs
Check condition of coil packs
Check condition of battery

I would do all that I mentioned above just for preventative maintenance. But it should all help with the rough idle and oil consumption.

Replace the entire oil separator system and all piping, not just one breather hose. Intake leak allows unmetered air, resulting in poor running. Check adaptive trims (part throttle multiplicative). If positive by more than 5-6% on both banks, it is having to add fuel to keep the air-fuel mix correct.

First, thanks to everyone for their help

-Air filter, plugs, battery have already been changed to no avail. I've been using Techron once a month. Have not changed the coil packs yet

-Oil separator system: wouldn't there be visible leaks or something? I don't mind changing out the entire system, but shouldnt there be other symptoms?

-Always have used BMW's 5-30 for the N52 engine, oil changes every 5-6k.

-There is no sign of leaking around the oil filter housing either.
