deals on M versions

are people getting smoking deals on these things??

the dealer in Fremont has about 5 M roadsters and coupes
the dealer in San Jose has just about as many.
The main thing that surprises me is the amount of M coupes on lots, more of them are around than roadsters.

they have so many in fact that they left a red M coupe out in front of the college ballpark near me for a week. (bastards tempting me)

Seems like the local dealers have such a large inventory of such a small volume mover they'd be trying to move them.

anyone else seeing tons of these things on lots?

I haven't really looked that hard but, what kind of deals are you seeing? I mean, are they more easily afforded then before? What year are they and what are they going for?

The same 3 (2 coupes/1 roadster) have been sitting on my local dealer's lot for at least 4 months. They have an M3 vert that's been there almost 8 months, an M6 that's been there for about 5 months and an M5 that's been there about 2 on top of that. M cars sales have realllyyy slowed down in this area.

With the housing market in the toilet right now people arent exactly in the mood to buy high performance cars. I am sure BMW dealerships are a little more willing to part with their cars for this reason...

I'm not really shopping, I already have a 04 Z4, and that and the M verisions are too similar to justify the $$$$ to me. I'll be waiting for the next M version or the next Boxster

but it sure seems odd to see so many of these M cars on the lots, I guess if anything it makes the scenery better when you visit a dealer

Very very interesting thread, it seems that if you are a smart buyer and don't fall for the hype behind the letter "M" you can actually get a good deal on these cars because they are just sitting at the dealership lots for months. Dealers have got to salivate at the thought of getting the car off the lot and will be willing to take off some money if you are a serious buyer. Good times for an enthusiast to buy a car

I just got a letter from my dealer saying he's willing to buy my car off of me in exchange for any new or pre-owned BMW in stock. Not sure what that means, but I think it's worth looking in to...

Maybee a very wealthy enthusiast wants a Z4 M so badly? I would take a brand new 7 series off the lot, sell it, buy another M coupe and pocket the change

that's just bullcrap scam that they send out hoping suckers will come in and trade their car in on a whim

they are not saying they'll give you any car in exchange for yours, they're saying you have the priviledge of trading your car in towards any car on the lot

I'm guessing that's probably true...but I'm curious enough to find out what they have to say.
