Satellite Radio - Voice Commands
Hi,
I have Satellite radio in my new BMW and i am really hoping i'm missing something on the voice command options as they relate to Sirius. I read a few other posts and I didn't find much else but the main menu options to command. Does anyone know of a complete list of voice commands available for the Satellite radio? I have enjoyed Satellite for over 2 years now and it seems my older peripheral units had much more functionality than the one installed from BMW. It just seems a little bit silly that I can request a track from a CD which at the most has 20 but i am not able to direct a channel change when there are more than 150 channels in Sirius. At the very least is there a way to display what is playing on a specific station before selecting it? Knowing that this is a minor issue considering the all the other benefits of this car I am just hoping there is something I missed. Thanks for any info... Matt |

Voice command is very limited in SatNav. For instance, I was in an Acura TL or RL or something, and you could say "XM Channel 50" and it would switch to that channel. Tried it several times in the e90 before realizing there weren't nuttin' there. Kinda sux.

I still haven't tried it, but it should work in mine since it was a March '07 build.

saw this somewhere else here. It does work. Feb 07 build.
Still having some trouble timing the vc, waiting a little after the beep.

I received update 25.01.01 and I do have sat voice command. Say, "sat preset channel one", etc; or "sat radio channel 44". For whatever reason it won't recognize channels over 90 for voice command on my e92. For example, if I say "sat radio channel 124" vc can't handle it.

"one two four" "one twenty four" or "one hundred twenty four" That might make a difference

Damn, my 335i is Nov. 06 build and does not have the sat voice command ability. No idrive. What can I tell the dealership to get the latest software installed without paying?

Don't bother. If you don't have iDrive then you don't have the high functioning computer. Your voice commands are limited to the bluetooth menu only.

Almost as nice as the new ability to simply say "Navigation Home" and have the nav system calculate the route home and then automatically start guidance for you. Have you tried THAT one yet? Mike
