Rubbing issue
I have 265/30/19 at the back, and it's rubbing a bit when i have passenger. I'm wondering if i had 255 instead if it would fix the problem? I don't know a whole lot about tires Let me know what you think, or tell me i'm a noob that's ok too

ur offset is too low in the back....
kumho tires are the widest.... whoever sold you your wheels should have told you the offset was too low, if you want to play it safe look for a rear offset no lower than 30mm. especially if you are lowered. |

I have 19s 265 generals with 30 off set in the rear. No rubbing with 4 people in the car. I was very close to go with a 22 off set, but the guys at **********s told me about the risk of rubbing with such off set.

That sux. I just payed over $3000 for rims and they could not do it right. The guy at the shop asked me which offset i wanted, i told him you're the expert just make sure there's no rubbing. I guess he's no expert. Which is weird becuase that's all they do, work on BMW. I called him and he hasen't returned my call yet

Well they won't give me new wheels, even if it's their mistake  I can't find anyone here in town that will foll the fenders. The shop told me i should see if i can have a few mm shaved at the back of the wheel. He think it has 12 or 14 mm, and he said the minimum require is 8 mm. He said some guys go with 6 mm, but he doesn't think it's safe. You guys ever heard of doing that to a wheel?

shaving can be a bad thing. i have heard of people who have done it without issue. bear in mind you are technically boring out the wheel and making it thinner than what it was meant to be...i'd try switching tires to a narrower one and rolling fenders before i shaved the rim...

I actually found a shop that will do it, he said they've done it on Audi quite a bit. It's a hour away from here. Road trip
Which tires would you guys think are a bit narrower?

Man I am sorry to hear that.
The E90/E92 wheel settomgs for the BMW market were completely new, we had to spend a good amount of time trying the different fitments. We originally thought the high offsets would work fine like the other 3 series, but to much of a gap(to oem like way to much room there) later there were those who claimed the low offsets like the m3's and m5's would work, again we found rubbing, even though it looked damn good. Then playing around with the spacers, we found the ideal offset in the rear to be a 30 on a 19x9.5and with the 19x10 you can go with a ET35 as we did with our 366 and our BBS LM-R reps. Feel free to ask us a question if if its not a wheel were selling, we'll do our best to help you out. I am sure the community will also support you with any questions you may have. |
