Ordering an F30

Have had a strong indication from a BMW Main Dealer that if I so wished I can now pre-order my F30 for delivery 1st March 2012.
Although brochures will not be available until early Jan 2012, it would seem Main Dealers now have prices available for all the 'optional items & equipment'. These prices are not yet available on the BMW UK website.
Personally I am going to wait until the motors are in the showroom, brochures are available and a road test!
Who's going to be the first to place a pre-order?

I ordered my e46 completely blind and got one of the first customer cars. It was a company car so it was either go for the e46 and take a chance or have one of the run-out e36. I'm glad I chose the e46 which was steets ahead of the e36 but I'm not sure I would have done it with my own cash.

I know I'd struggle to buy anything without a road test first. Let alone seeing it in the metal.

I don't know - I got my e46 on launch day when loads of people were milling around having canapes and drinks, looking at the two e46 under the lights. It was pretty cool when they politely ushered people out of the way, opened the big sliding doors, and gave me the key.

I'd want to see it first. The renderings and spy shots i've seen of the exterior don't worry me, it's just going to look like a slightly smaller F10. However, the interior pics that i've seen worried me. I'm not sure I'd want to spend most of my time looking at that mess.

Non of the petrols are in "sport" option

8-12% is generally the most discount you normally get unless something special is on offer from BMW UK.

The F10 is brand new and there are tons on the road already.

I got exactly 10% of my F10 which I thought wasn't bad given that the M-Sport had only been out 6 months.

I could live with the exterior design..probably in the guise of the M Sport version of the F30..not too sure about the interior esp the non-retractable satnav console that sticks out of the dash a bit like the 1 series. God knows why BMW would put something like that on the dash..completely ruins the looks. And the M Sport steering wheel look so retro not in a good way. Like the F10 dash better..look a lot more classy. I think i will wait for the F32 or 4 series coupe whatever it will be called or i will move on to a Merc. Is it just me or does anyone else think BMW is having an identity crisis. Initially it was the fugly new headlights for the 1 series that mimics the new Audi A1 or A6. Now they are coming up with different category for the same segment "luxury", "modern" or "sport" line for the SE which at the end of the day still looks like a SE.

Don't get this modern, luxury , sport trim.
What was wrong with ES, SE trims.
New dash isn't nice either and the msport steering wheel looks like something from the Demon Tweeks catalogue.

Yes you are missing the full range, we get a hybrid and xDrive options, along with more engines, as production gets into full swing.

Anyone speccing a new model will need their head screwed on, not to miss vital options and also will need to think about trade-in time, or there will be some 'deep breaths' taken as low values are put on crazy specifications for the used market.

Will be even harder to get a specific spec' used, as I personally feel virtually every car will be different. Both garage spec'd cars and user spec'd cars alike.

Interesting times ahead in the used market.
