I've been waiting for BMW to come out with a reliable (and relatively simple) fix for the scrambled phonebook problem. My wife is really starting to bug me to get this fixed.

Can anybody give me an idea whether the new software update fixes this problem? Could somebody with a similar problem give me their experiences, suggestions, etc.?

The only scrambled phonebook problems I've seen myself are with phones that are not compatible.

What mobile are you using and have you tried another?

Thank you for the response, but this is not a phone issue. My phone worked fine before the BMW software update. Now the phonebook is all scrambled. I have tried re-pairing, deleting, etc. It is a known BMW software problem that needs to be corrected by BMW.

If you look at some of the other threads it appears that it can be costly and difficult to repair. Because of this I have waited about 6 months to see if an easier fix will come up. I'm hoping somebody on here has some good ideas that I can pass on to a dealer. So far they aren't being very helpful. They told me 6 months ago that they would research how to repair it. They never got back to me, and when I pushed the issue they asked me to give them more time to research it.

One of the threads that you list as an example was one of my threads. The problem has been fixed for me. I think you can go to your dealership and get it fixed now. I would call them to find out what software program they are at now. If they are at program 25.1.1 then you should be totally fine. I just heard others complain about not having the voice recognition work if their dealer doesn't have 25.1.1. I hope everything works out for you.

That doesn´t remove the phone from the equation however.

If the phone is not a ,,supported´´ phone and other phones aren´t working, the problem still points back to the phone.

As more and more changes are made in sw, more and more phones which used to work won´t work after a Progman update.

The phone is a Motorola V710. It is listed as compatible.
