Service @ Southbay BMW Torrance
Hello just want to share a service experience @ Southbay BMW in Torrance, CA:
My 1st oil service @ 11.5k miles: Service Adviser: Hello sir, we are going to perform standard oil service on your E90 jon328i: Sure, go for it. SA:While your car is in service, we recommend you a fuel injector service for $299. jon328i: No. SA:Are you sure you don't want this done? It will make your car run faster.. jon328i: I said NO! i dont need it. Since he could not make me say yes, he tried another one... SA: Since you change your tires to Hankook R-S3, you need a 4-wheel alignment for $199. jon328i: NO! Can we just finish the paperwork.. *Beware of service rip-offs...this SA was trying to fool me for service that i really don't need* Thumbs down for this service dept! |

I would never go back to that SA again. I have been to 2 dealers and have never had them push anything on me. The hook me up with things, free brakes when they were not needed for example.

I just noticed today these "extra services" that they offer and cost $$$, but on my previous service experience in this dealership on my E46/E83, they never pushed me to get these.

Some dealers require their SA to push more services and make that extra buck. You can't blame the SA if that's his job. I don't see the big deal, just say no, and get on with your day. They always asked me and it never bothered me.
