Best run flat tires

I have an 08 335i and an 09 135i. Both are due for new tires within the next few months. What are the best summer and all-season RFT's out there for them? I don't track my cars and would like to stay with RFT's. I know that the stock Bridgestones RE050's are terrible. How are the Michelin Pilot Sports ZP's or the Pirelli P-Zero RFT?

I'm looking too.

The Michelins get better buyer reviews than the Pirelli's on TireRack. Both get much better rating than the OEM RE050s. Both have higher tread-wear ratings than the RE050 as well.

Are you dead-set on another set of RFTs? I'm thinking about the NON-RFT Pilot Sport PS2. If I get a flat, I'm usually no more than 30 minutes from a BMW dealer...

Yes, I'm pretty set on having RFT's. Just the peace of mind is worth it. And I drive quite a bit throughout Texas, which is nothing but open highways in the middle of nowhere.

I've heard the Conti's ride better than the Bridgestones. Every once in a while you hear about new generation RFTs, but its hard to track down information about them since I'm guessing your average forum poster is trying to get rid of them rather than try to find the best one. I've got two years left on my CPO & maintenance contract, so when my Bridgestones are up, I'm also going to stay RFT. Plus I do about 60 miles of commuting 4 days a week, and my drive takes me thru east st. louis. I would not ditch the RFTs until I'm comfortable carrying a spare in my limited trunk space. I've got about 30k on my current set but still have decent tread left.

Wow, you've got 30k on the Bridgestone RE50's?? That's a lot!
