Long-term effects of a tune on 335i w/out oilcooler

Hi folks,

I've searched and read the threads relating to tunes, which tunes, oil coolers, limp mode on oil temp, etc etc etc. and still am in need of some specific information.

Here's my situation: 2007 335i cabrio, no sport package (and thus no oil cooler). Build date of 04/2007. My original warranty expires the 21st this month, then the CPO kicks in.

I'm looking for anyone with experience to share about having a tune on a similar car to guage the longer-term effects on the engine. I'd really like to get a tune, and am also considering the v2 PPK from BMW, since it includes some additional cooling elements. But if I were to go aftermarket (probably Cobb), would love to hear how similar cars that have been run with a tune for some time are holding up. I plan on keeping this one for a while and want to treat it right....but also want to take advantage of what I can

thanks,
a.

I've run my 04/07 in service 335 with Euorocharged Tune for 2+ years or 30k miles. I've run stage 1 & 2 over that time depending on what supporting mods I have had. I have had no tune related issues thus far.

I would jump to stage 3 but that requires an oil cooler.

Exactly the kind of things I'm hoping to hear....thanks!

Anyone else? I know this is highly unscientific, but I couldn't find much about long-term running of tunes and the effects....

If you never track your car, you are **probably** ok, depending on your driving style. I would never track a 335 with or without a tune if it had no oil cooler.
