Is 235/35/18 too low profile

the standard sidewall height for 235/18 is 40. you wont be stretched but i think it might make your wheel wells look bigger

I thought of that too, would lowering the body soften the look?

It would but then your speedo would be off.

You should just go with some 19" wheels and have a bigger rim, lower profile tires, and less "appeared" wheel gap.

Yes, go with 225/40 or 235/40.

A 235/35 tire would be more appropriate on a 19". For 18s you'll want a 235/40 tire.

Would 235/40 work equally well on 18x8 vs 18x8.5? Trying to decide on a square setup.

Yes a 235/40/18 will also work on an 18x8.
