Where To Have Tires Installed?
I'm at that time where I need new tires...stock RFTs lasted all of 11,000 miles.
Two questions: 1) Where should I buy/install tires? I've used Discount Tire in the past with good results, but I don't want any problems with TPMS, etc. 2) Should I get RFTs again or regular tires? Suggestions on brand/model? I am thinking about the Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Honestly, I don't see myself ever needing to change a tire, even with a flat. I'm leaning toward getting regular tires and just calling BMW Roadside, my insurance, or AAA for a tire change. I don't travel far and if I had a flat, I'd probably be close to home. I guess I could buy a jack kit and store in the trunk. Last edited by BayMoWe335; 10-06-2011 at 05:49 PM.. |

Not sure where in the US you are located, but if you're in SoCal my vote goes for TWS in Walnut. Mike and Albert run a good shop and have good prices.

One of the most well known tire shops that have good results would definitely be Discount Tire.
It sounds like you don't really want to run run flat tires again though, so you have a lot of options now. Pilot Super Sport tires are really nice! If you were considering those I'd definitely recommend them.

I got my Pilot Super Sports installed at Discount Tire in Pasadena. No issues with TPMS or anything else & fast, friendly service. I'm happy to be rid of the RFT's, and I don't carry a spare, just my AAA card.

Thanks for the feedback. I am probably going for this setup in the next month.
