Getting the "light failure" symbol how to tell which one?

I am getting the "light failure" symbol on my dash (no idrive). However, all my lights seem to be working. Is there a way to tell which one it's talking about besides going in to the dealer?

Might be your "full force" brake light. The only way you can test it (as far as I know) is by slamming on the brake while someone is watching your tail lights. If you jam the brake pedal while it's stopped, it won't come on.

It was the first bulb that needed replacing in my e93 and my buddy's e92. For a bulb that's used the least, it seems to die out pretty quick. And it's not very useful. It's a pretty dinky ass light. I don't see how that is going to alert the guy behind you better than the regular and (much bigger) brake lights.

Thanks guys, I was wondering if there was a way to get the computer to tell you the code that is associated with the symbols. I have a pdf that shows all the symbols and it has a column for codes. I just don't know how to get those codes to show up.

1. Start the car
2. Go to "Check control"
3. Select the error and press the stalk for 5 seconds.
4. Below you will have now a CC-ID message with a number. Check the PDF below for the number description of the error ("ID Code" column).

Would a mod please sticky the thread? Getting threads like that every day.
