Lowering Springs: Camber Issues?
Hate to create a whole new thread but I can't seem to get a straight answer. I'll try to make this concise.
I bought Koni/H&R sport setup uninformed about camber. After buying them I was told I would need plates and/or bolts to reduce camber that would occur from lowering. I was shocked I hadn't heard about this on the forum. So here is goes, a couple questions. Please inform me of your setup before answering, I'm wanting some feedback towards Eibach pro and H&R sport. 1. How much negative camber do you have as a result of lowering your car? 2. How much negative camber causes uneven wear? 3. Did you buy camber plates or bolts to reduce camber after lowering? 4. Is negative camber adjustable with stock components? 5. When getting an "adjustment", do the mechanics adjust your camber and/or toe in? Thanks everyone, hopefully this is helpful to more than just me

Alright, thank you. Yeah if you don't mind throwing your offset in those digits that would be great. Thanks

1. How much negative camber do you have as a result of lowering your car?
depends on how low 2. How much negative camber causes uneven wear? any - camber does. lower the number the more the wear. 3. Did you buy camber plates or bolts to reduce camber after lowering? absolutely not. 4. Is negative camber adjustable with stock components? yes, but only so much and not in the + direction... 5. When getting an "adjustment", do the mechanics adjust your camber and/or toe in? yes, as needed. |

thanks for the reply. Anyone have any H&R sport/eibach + Koni yellow specific info. I was looking at that 1 inch drop range. Would that amount of drop cause uneven wear?

any drop will cause uneven wear. if you are so concerned about it then do not lower your car.

Haha. Good advice. I feel like everyone just has an opinion though. I've heard that everything up to -1.5 camber won't cause uneven wear.

Eibach Pro Kit springs and Performance dampers. No camber plates, alignment is within spec. Don't have the data sheets in front of me but I want to say my specs look something like -.7 up front and -1.7 in the back. I am running a pretty square set-up, in other words not track specs.

1.5 is the end of spec. I figured anything after 2 means unevenly worn tires. At least that's what I feel like I've learned from absorbing info from here.
