Hi. what about M3 and 3 series
Recently I tried to find root difference between BMW M3 and 3 series, or difference between E90/92/93 and 320i/325i, it seems that they have the same chassis and 70% components are different, I still don't have a clue to distinguish them

Are you serious did you use google. The difference between M3 and 320i/325i is the same as one between domestic cats vs Tiger.
The M3 employs 414hp S65B40 a naturally aspirated, high-revving 4-litre V8 of a beast. Where as the 325i/320i does it with an inline-6 of much more non racing aspirations and meager hp/tq figures compared to the monster in M3. The special transmission in M3 is 7-speed DCT a dual clutch semi-manual transmission. That has shift speeds that are insanely quick to make you look like an F-1 driver. The M3 has a M performance suspension and a proper M limited slip differential coupled with M performance larger yet lightweight wheels/tires as well as M dynamic mode to enhance track playfulness. Much beefier M performance brakes, carbon fiber roof to lower the C.g. and reduce weight. Nearly many different body panels, hood with vents and a bulge, bulged out fender flares, M exhaust, steering wheel, instrument panel, etc.......etc.....etc.....and I can keep going on and on and on...... My friend do a bit of research and you will find all the information.

although that might not be on the bmw site its quite easy to find. or at least figure out from reading on the boards. and not knowing the difference between an M3 and 320/325? Come on!
to make it easy for you e90/91/92/93 is the body style, it spreads across all 3 series: 320/325/328/330/335/m3. and those numbers are denote the engine type. N52/N54 is the engine type. S65 is the m3 engine. |
