First BMW - 335i - Sports Package

Got my first BMW yesterday. I went with a 2011 335is with the premium package (no navigation). This will be my first new car since my chevy that I got at 16 back in 2004. I'm really glad I went with the 335 over the EVO or the G37S.

https://picasaweb.google.com/rlsteel...eat=directlink

There are some pictures from the purchase day. I haven't yet taken any great quality pictures of the car, but I will be soon. The process was a little exhausting. Even though I had been looking to buy a new car, I was not expecting to buy one when I just randomly pulled into the lot to see what was available. Took a full 6 hour process to purchase it (though a lot of that time was dealing with insurance since I've always been under a Family Policy and was now going onto my own policy).

Very nice. Obviously a far superior choice compared to the EVO and G37s. But I must let you know that is not a 335is (which is a coupe with twin turbo).

Nice car. It's not a 335is though. The 335is only comes in Coupe. You do know which car you purchased, right? I hope your insurance isn't charging you for a 335is!

Sorry, I think I needed to put a space between the 335i and the s. I meant to indicate that the s = sports package. Correcting that.

Looks great, enjoy!! 335 is a beast ... the E90 is soon to be discontinued so kudos for getting a new one while they lasted.

Question. You said mine is an E90, but I've also seen people refer to a 335 as a E92. How do you know which one applies?

Answer to my own question.

E90 = Sedan
E91 = Wagon
E92 = Coupe
E93 = Convert

Please correct me if I got it wrong. Thanks!

Congrats, I have the same color combo on my 328i.

E90 = sedan
E91 = wagon
E92 = coupe
E93 = convertible

Thanks. :-) I'm really liking the car so far. I'm considering hitting up my local Cobb tuning here in Plano, TX and buying the Access Port. I'll def be waiting till I get my next paycheck as my bank account needs to recover from my down payment, but that is next on my list.

Only things that bug me so far:

* The car was a demo car, so in perfect condition. As a result, though, they took out the floor mats and there was no iPod y-cable that i read comes standard with the car. I'm going back today to see where my mats and cable are.

* I was _SUPPOSED_ to get a 1 year sub to sirius, but they activated that about a year ago through the dealer. So while I have sirius in the car, and it is now in my name, I only have 2 months left on it. Got to see if they'll give me a GC or something so I get my one year.

* Was a little mad when he told me that I should buy the extended maintenance for oil changes. Even after telling him I'd be changing the oil myself after the 4 year 50,000 mile warranty ran out, he told me that for them to "hook up a computer" and clear the service lights would cost me $135 (the sales guy also told me that no one but a BMW dealer could clear out the lights). A quick search on here, and verification on my car, shows me that it takes me 2 minutes to do it myself. I know the dealer is considered a raping when it comes to service, but geeze!

* Also, has anyone had any problems with their vent clips breaking? A co-worker has couple years older 335i and one of her A/C vent clips broke. Mine was broke when I bought it, though they assured me that if I bring it back this week they will repair it at once, but just wondering if this is something that happens commonly.

The Cobb accessport isn't out for the n55 quite yet. Welcome to the family from a fellow Texan :hi:

Thanks Dallas here.

Also, curious as to what indicates the n54 (I think I recall reading that that was the engine before the n55?) or the n55? I'm really new to cars. My roommate has a Mazda Speed6 and I've been trying to learn from him. Now that I have my own nice sporty turbo car I'm making the attempt to educate myself more.

I'm not sure why you bought a demo car, I hope you got a hell of a deal and did not pay new car price on it. But congratulations none the less. There's nothing like driving a new BMW. And about the extended maintenance they tried to sell you, I always tell people that everyone inside a dealership has a primary job function to get as much money out of you as possible. They are not your friends no matter how friendly they may seem. Watch how they face turns sour when they realize they're not going to be making the money they had hoped to off of you.

Car MSRP was $49000. They had it on the lot for $44000. I got them down to $42400 plus they threw in Gap Protection.

Pretty sure mine is a twin turbo, unless the sales guy was wrong when he sold me the car. Is there a way to check this? Or is it standard that ALL 2011 335 e90s are the N55?
