Am I a poser?
Am I a poser, or is it ultra lame if I put an M shift knob on my non m-sport E90? I know it isn't an M, but I like it better. It's either the sport one or the M.

Yea I'm going to go with the M knob then. Just wanted to make sure I wouldn't get flamed for it lol.
I still need to do some research on this because I'm kind of unclear as to what it actually does. This is the my first actual MT car, but the last time i drove an MT was a 335 in May so my skills are a little rough. I'm sure I'll be good at it within a day though. |

Lol do what you want with your car man. Don't worry about what other BMW owners are going to think. I think it's pretty ridiculous for people to hate on something that's not that big of a deal. You're not hurting anyone.

Thats fine - just don't put an M badge on the back of the car!

I look at the "M" sport labels as their parts specific label for parts that you can purchase for regular production cars. Have a bunch of them stuck on both my 330Ci & 335is from the factory.
BMW labels the whole car as a "M" product with the M3/M5 etc. label on the trunk so its lame to stick one on your car. The key to me is the M with a number attached is posing. That being said you paid for the car so screw what anyone else says & enjoy yourself.

The "sport" knob does not appear to be the same as the "M" knob the golf ball indentations look shallower -- I'm happy with my shift knob and you need to look inside the car to see anything.

If you are that worried about it, why not change the engine, suspension and exhaust... or buy an M :-p.

I have M3 CSL reps on my car with the ///M stickers. I think little things here and there aren't bad. Just can't overdo it and NO ///M badges. Lol. Not like you have that though.

I just ordered the M-sport knob from mod bargains. Also threw in some clear reflectors while I was at it. Pick up the car a week today, I'm so excited.
List of mods that I already have (or have on order): Passport 9500ix hardwire kit Clear reflectors M shift knob Just need to have the windows tinted now (but I think that'll wait until next summer) |

I wouldn't do it simply because my car is not an M, but honestly, I don't think putting that stuff on makes a person a poseur....if you like it, do it...
