335 Diesel Questions???????????????

Seems like dealers are trying to firesale the 2011 335d model, must not be selling.

the one I'm looking at does not have sports suspension, could you swap in the BMW performance suspension? or would it not work due to the weight of the diesel motor,

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't diesels super strong and long lasting?

diesels are a beast. They aren't selling well bc they are over priced and fuel is more expensive.

There has to be a suspension upgrade for it...i'm sure

In my notes it states that due to the added weight of the diesel motor special shocks and springs are needed, so the non diesel suspension would not be a match.

Now if you went with a non sport suspension 335d then you could always change the suspension for the BMW Sport Diesel springs by H&R.

Or go a little more into the aftermarket with a set of KW Coil Overs.

yes they are super strong, fast, excellent mileage and diesel engines are known to last much longer than gas engines. you are wrong because fuel is CHEAPER than premium right now. i'm sure you can swap the suspension but for me the biggest thin gis the steering and seats.

Around here, diesel is more expensive. I agree that the car is overpriced. I own one though and it is definitely worth it. Oh yeah, you can buy mine for the right price (seriously).

and long lasting?
Gassers last as long these days. Not a significant difference.

you see a good bit more audi's than BMW's in trini.

318's, 320's. 118's. 520's. more 1 series than 3 series. mostly e90's. i've never seen a 335. due to the tax on engine displacement they are VERY expensive. i have seen x6 30d, x5's and such.

Unless you're doing a hefty commute each day it's tough to justify the cost. I would have loved to get a 335d but the cost is too high for me. I also found it strange that there was very little negotiating room on these models.

My 335d cost me significantly less than an equivalent 335i, and it was precisely because they offered so many rebates and were so willing to negotiate on the diesel.

I absolutely love it. the fetes the women, u name it. i was there this past june and they had a carshow in west mall. i spoke to the BMW guy and they said a 335i would be about 800k tt. thats close to 120k us dollars. almost double what a 320 costs there which is 400-450k tt. it is time for a visit man, you're missin out on a lot!

sticker was 56k for mine, i paid 46k. i think that's some good negotiating. my commute is about 90 miles a day, decent highway, sometimes traffic. drive it well i get 35mpg. drive her bad, 32mpg. i can't see many other cars that can do that.

Same here, maswastage, and I got mine in Toronto. In fact, it was the same price as a premium 328xi.

BevTrovato must have spoken with a different dealer.

Anything can be swapped for a cost. I'd keep looking around, sport package is so much more than suspension. But if it's what you want, go for it. Nobody in America buys them because diesel=big redneck truck that's loud and annoying

I purchased a base model and installed aftermarket springs (Eibach) and BMW Performance Dampers, along with aftermarket 19" wheels. Great cars. I avg 24 mpg city with a VERY heavy foot and 39 mpg's highway, doing 75 - 80.

Garage List
search for a company called MALONE tuning. They specialize in diesels tuning, and very well known, well respected company.
First of all, diesel engines are bulletproof (you'll probably die before that engine gives up).
Second, they are torque monster. A guy with a FORD F250 Diesel, tuned, kicked my butt on a turn to go on the FWY when I was driving my ZHP. I caught up to him, but I was doing 120.
Third, they are soooo good on fuel economy. I was thinking heavily of getting a Jetta TDI sportswagon. It does about 450 to 600 miles on the tank; depending on the driving.
