e90 tyre size on 8j rims
Hi i have brought a e90 2008 320d se which has had 8j x 18 (et 37) aftermarket wheels fitted.Presently the tyres fitted are 225x40x18's front rear.
I have fitted 15mm spacers to the rear and would like to have a staggered setup, could you advice the recommended tyre sizes for the rear if i keep the original 225x40x18's on the front. i was considering 245x40x18,245x35x18 or the original 255x35x18 as fitted to the m sport models. I would like to keep the gearing as close as possible to the original for the speedo. Could anyone advice on the tyre pressures for the original setup and the staggered setup. i am presently running psi 35f and 38r. Thank you Last edited by hawk; 09-29-2011 at 03:36 AM.. |

I wouldn't bother with a staggered tyre set up on 18x8 wheels.

^ agreed - you can run a 235/40R18 or max 245/35R18 square setup. You should keep a square setup to allow rotation of the tires front/rear to get more miles and even wear. The vehicle will be more balanced as well.

I would probably recommend sticking with the 225 or a 235 tire all around so that you can rotate the wheels down the road.
