E39 M5 wheels on an E90

Hello all, newbie here. I looked for a while on the wheel and tire threads and I couldn't find a definate answer. I have a 2007 328i sedan and I recently purchased a set of 19" E39 M5 wheels. They are staggered 19"-8.5" in the front and 9.5" in the rear. The fronts came with brand new 245/35s, and the rears were bald as they can get. I was just wondering what size tires I should get for the rears. I was thinking of a 255/30, or 255/35, but someone I was talking to at Discount Tire suggested 275/30. I found that 275/30 tires were a lot cheaper than 255/35s, so I'm leaning towards that size, but I am worried about the tires rubbing the wheel well. Does anyone have any suggestions on what size I should look for? I'm not really interested in rolling my fenders or doing any mods to the wheel well, and I don't race or anything, I just like the look of my car with the 19s on them. Any advice would help. Thanks for looking!

Do you happen to know the offsets & center bore of the wheel too? That is going to affect the fitment.

If it is e39 anything, it is a 74.1mm Centerbore, the e9x runs a 72.56mm so you will need a hub ring to make the hub fit.

If I remember right the offsets on those should be mid 30's so a 265/30/19 rear tire would be perfect

Yes, Gavin has the right offsets, and yes, I'm gonna order some of those hub rings. Thanks!

Just an FYI:

235/35/19 and 275/30/19 tires are the optimum sizes because the diameters almost match perfectly. Any size above or below will create a mismatch in diameters and could thus affect actual speed vs. speedo reading.

That is why tire calculators are really handy:

The 18 e39 M5 wheels style 65 are ET20 front and ET22 rear.

Kind of late, but I went with 265/30/19 in the rears and 245/35/19 in the front, and also purchased some hub rings. I got them all balanced and got a full 4 wheel alignment at NTB. They ride smooth in the city, but I feel a little vibration at 70+ on the freeway. I also rub a little if i hit a dip in the road. The 19s might be a little too big, but I just LOVE how it looks!

Dude that looks sick, and way to be a little different. Re the rubbing, how bad is it rubbing on dips? Adjust camber to help out on that?
