sold the 135 msport and picked up a beautiful 335i convertible!!!

Hey new guy here! I've been through quite the journey this year with cars... purchased a 94' Supra TT that never ran (engine needed more work than I wanted to do) so I purchased a 2008 GT-R and that lasted a couple months before the reality of needing to purchase a house came around I still get weak when I think about the day I sold her...
Anyways next car I picked up was a 2008 135i m sport black/red, the car was absolutely beautiful and I loved it but after a nice trip from Michigan to Miami, FL I decided the 1 series is just too small of a car for me! I had purchased the alufelgen (spelling) CS7 replica wheels and picked up the black grill kit... the car looked amazing!
Fast forward to 3 days ago and after still having back pains and realizing the thing was just too small I decided to go after what I had always wanted. Found a 2008 335i convertible Alpine white with a red leather interior and knew I had to make the upgrade! I could not be more pleased with it!!! I know it still no GT-R but for the sake of being semi-practical this was definitely the best choice I would have made. I absolutely love the TT straight 6 and the overall look of the car, yes I have plans to mod...
I do have a question... when I bought my 1 series it came with an extra set of "winter wheels" with brand new Blizzaks mounted on them... will these wheels fit the 335? I'm praying they do because I still have the CS7's as well... Cobb access port and the M sport lip are on my list of to-do's and possible an exhaust? I have already ordered some LED goodies for the halo's and HID's for the fogs!

Anyways here are some pic's! ENJOY!

poopy supra:

GT-R (I MISS IT SOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!)

135i:

aaaand the new car!!! 335i!!!

I WILL GET PLENTY MORE PIC'S ONCE THE MOD'S START COMING IN!

I can't imagine going from a gtr to a 335i...I went from a C63 to a 328i Miss it every now and then, the 3-series really is a nice car though.

Those are some crazy transitions car to car ... Welcome.

GT-R is sick. I imagine I would miss that too.

Best luck with the BMW, you already had the 135 so you know the quality of the brand and the awesomeness of the twin-turbo inline six. A JB4 and an upgraded intercooler (I like the Helix one) will make it a lot faster.

Make sure you check out our detailing forum, keep that car looking brand spanking new:

What is the mod plan!?

I hate to point out the obvious but you have the slowest car by far at this point lol. The supra that didn't run was probably still faster... I do understand your reasoning though and hope you enjoy the new vert. It would have hurt me though, to go through those 3 cars and end up with a 3 series convertible but to each his own.

How is comfort in the 335 vs. GTR?? Obviously the GTR pwns the BMW in the performance department, but wanna know how you would compare to two in terms of comfort, daily driving, seating position.

Curious too. One thing I think is certain: the 335 pwns the GTR in the looks department. The GTR always looked to me like a love interest for a droid.

Interior yes...

The exterior of the GT-R screams BADASS...but the interior looks horrible. Plus I hate the fact that it dosen't come in manual (really takes away from the sports car appeal).

It's an upgrade if you ask me. Obviously no bias from a fellow vert owner You may be a bit slower but you won't notice with the sun, wind, and women in your face! It's a completely different experience altogether.

Plus it's fun to pretend that you are inspector gadget and your car is a transformer. Go Go Gadget Convertible!

x2 on wanting to know impressions of 3 series vs. GT-R. I'm thinking my next car might be GT-R (daily driven) and am wondering if that's feasible.

From a quick search it looks like your wheels will fit but may be a little sunk into the wheel wells because of offset differences. Nothing you can't fix with spacers (good think you're going from 1->3 and not 3->1).

I could be completely wrong but my guess is you would've been in a similar financial position if you stayed with the GTR instead of going through 2 more cars.

All very nice cars. I would have found a way to keep the Supra and the GTR though. Two of the fastest Japanese cars ever made. Hate to say it but the 2 BMW's are the boring cars of the bunch. I'm sure you'll be happy with the 335i though after you've slapped on a JB4 onto it.

haha hey guys, yeah life after the GT-R has just not been the same... I closed on my house though! So hopefully by next summer I'll be creeping in the market for yet another GT-R (I think only then will I be content!). The GT-R interior is better than the 3 series IMHO... navi/user interface is much easier and enjoyable than the damn idrive ... Seats were a bit uncomfortable (I'm 210lbs 5'10") but everything else was great! The stock audio system in the GT-R was def. lacking for being something from bose but all those things I could look past for the simple fact I owned another of my "dream cars". Oh and the "backseats"... haha should have just thrown it out as a 2 seater!

I live in MI and I was daily driving the GT-R but planned on garaging it in the winter/rain... GT-R's can def. be used for daily driving but it's like cutting another limb from a unicorn when something goes wrong... to be honest I don't even like talking about the GT-R anymore because I miss it soo much, had a great 4 months with her and I am certain I will be purchasing another within the next year (they are that damn good)!

On other news, yes the 3 series is starting to annoy me... at least the conv. part... i've always been coupe guy and owned an s2000 in 2007 but I just like the look of the coupe's better... I think I might post my e93 up for sale/trade, if you guys know anyone thats looking to trade a 335i coupe (pref. manual) please lmk haha my car has under 13k on the clock, pretty much brand new!

I'll also get more pic's up soon of the car... starting to move and have had no time to get on the internet and sorry for the sloppy post/reply I'm usually not this unorganized in typing!
