About ready to order! Need help!

Hi guys! I currently have a 09' 328i coupe with coral red/black leather + aluminum trim. I'm in the market for a new convertible.

Option 1: Coral red/black leather + bamboo anthracite

Option 2: Saddle brown + bamboo anthracite

Opinions and pictures welcomed! Thanks for the help.

Well first off, you're neglecting a very important piece of information -- what exterior color(s) you're considering. However, even without knowing that I think it depends mostly on whether you want to accentuate the sportiness or luxuriousness of your next car. Both interior colors look great IMHO, though I'd personally go with Coral Red because I like my cars sporty and I also think it's a better match with Bamboo Anthracite (high gloss black looks great too but apparently it's not available anymore).

Since you're ordering though, if you go with Saddle you might also want to consider Light Burl Walnut. It would add back some of the flair to the interior that you'd lose by not going with red, and personally I think bamboo blends in too much with the black dash unless you have a really strong seat color like red to offset it.

+1 for Light Burl Walnut.

It's much better than the regular wood.

Personally I'm a much bigger fan of brushed aluminum than the textured glacier aluminum, but I also think that red and silver might be a little too much going on color-wise on the interior.

Agree 100%

I'd have to say it really depends on what "image" you want to go for. I personally went back and fourth between coral red and black and in the end decided on black with black bamboo anthracite trim and SBM exterior. I thought it gave a nice balance of sporty and luxury. If I could do it again, I have to say I would go with the coral red to be different and add a lil' more sporty to the equation. Definitely stick with the bamboo trim though, it looks spectacular! Good luck with your decision!

Thanks for all the input! I neglected to mention I'm leaning towards a black exterior and I really want the car to be sporty. I love my coral red interior now I get so many compliments, but I was thinking I would want to change it up since I'd basically be re-ordering the same car (but as a convertible) with different trim. What other colors go with red?

Can't get any sportier than the 335is in Black Sapphire/Red Coral with the dark Glacier Alum trim! Black takes a lot of attention to keep clean. My next BMW will be white with the Red Coral Trim, M package, Convenience package (the keyless option is awesome)

Black/red = Slick, stylish, sporty, but still a little reserved
Black/saddle = Button-down, tasteful, elegant, but still some flash

Other colors that go very well with red are Space Gray, Alpine White, and Mineral White. They're all popular combos and all look very slick and sporty without being "loud" -- Alpine is a bright white-out white, whereas Mineral is a little more subdued and has that very cool metallic glint. Mineral also looks like a more expensive paint job. Titanium Silver would probably work with red too but silver is one of the most common colors on the market. Just stay away from blue unless you're absolutely, completely certain you want it....

If you go with Saddle, on the other hand, consider Le Mans and Deep Sea Blue. Both look absolutely fabulous IMHO, with Deep Sea being a more luxurious-but-still-fun version of the sporty-but-still-classy Le Mans Blue -- check the official color threads for a better idea of the colors than is available on the configurator. However, Le Mans requires that you have M-Sport and Deep Sea requires that you NOT have M-Sport, so that might simplify the decision right there.
