stagger vs square

hello everone,
i have 335xi coupe and cant decide from stagger vs square.
im looking for some opinions on making the right choice. i like to find out what most people are doing.

staggered

i had the option but i wanted a bigger lip in the back im running a 1.5" in front and 3" in back i love it.

would not have it any other way

Depends on what you want.

Performance or looks?

If you want performance, get a square setup. It will reduce under steer, in our under steer prone xis.

If you just want looks, go with a staggered setup. Make sure you keep the rolling diameters within 1%, front vs rear.

I'm running staggered and it is mainly for looks. If you decide to go staggered, you will definitely have understeer......I've gotten used to it now. Continental (DW) , Yokahoma (S. Drive) and General (G Max) make the 235/35/19 & 275/30/19 in EXACT same roll diameters according to Tire Rack. With staggered wheels, staying within 1% is key!!

I run a staggered setup for the summer when I can predict grip and a square setup on my winter tyres just to be on the safe side, I find it works for me.

As mentioned previously, square will help reduce the understeer. In addition to that, you can rotate your tires front to back if they are square too. I run 255/35/18 on the street, and 255/40/17 on the track. I use DForce eMpower wheels on the street (18x8.5) and DForce LTW5s on the track (17x9). The offsets are ET40 and ET41 respectively. There are 12.5mm spacers up front, and 5mm spacers in the rear. The suspension is a Dinan suspension with -1.8 degrees camber up front. At 255 you get a tiny bit of rubbing in the wheel well at a 45 degree turn. If you track the car, this is the only way to go in my opinion without rolling fenders.

12.5 mm in front, and 5 mm in back. If you did this with a staggered setup, it would reduce understeer. I have 235/35/19f 275/30/19r with a 12mm spacer in the front. No understeer. It feels dead on nuetral. Amazing.

I run 18' square for the winter with snows. As long as you have good summer tires, you can predict handling very well with a staggered set up!!
