Lesson lerned the hard way!!!
Key questions to ask when buying used rims.
1. Are they bent/curb rash? 2. Ever been repaired? 3. Are they TPMS compatible? If not do they make adapters for them? Do all the rims have TPMS? 4. What condition are the tires in? My ignorance has taught me a costly lesson. Bought rims from a forum member and didn\'t ask specific questions. His version of the rims are mint and have been well cared for translates to all 4 being bent with all 4 tires having to be replaced and rims sent out to be straightened. Oh and rims needed adapters for TPMS and one was missing. For the money I\'m shelled out for the rims and now for new tires and repairs. Over 4000 dollars. Could have bought brand new rims and tires instead of used!!! I feel like I got ass raped!!! Hopefully this will help future forum members avoid getting the shaft!!:-( |

I would have filled a claim with paypal, and if he's local why didn't you have the wheels inspected at a tire shop. Too late now to do any of that.

Spent 2300 on rims. After purchasing new tires and repair costs and replacing missing TPMS and making rims TPMS friendly a little over 4grand. Another thing I forgot to mention. Stated rims where 3 piece... Not the case, ended up being 2 piece wheels.. Somebody kick me in the balls now!!

Ouch. Pretty shady, i'm sure whoever sold you those rims knew they were in POS condition, but knowing you're not local, I'm sure they were willing to lie to get it out of their hands...especially for $2.3k. the ffuuuuu

Iconz 630z
Im computer illiterate. Cant figure out how to get pics off phone on to forum. The wheels I purchased are Iconz 630z. If you have seen the Mod City ads for wheels. The black 335i with the 630z chrome lip and black center are the rims I purchased.

I want to give the forum member the benefit of the doubt. Looking at the rims, they visually looked good. Just when I had them mounted the ride was terrible. Thought it was b/c the tires were worn down. After new tires car still drove crappy. Took wheels in to get checked at Wheel Specialties Inc. They informed that each wheel was bent and would need to get straightened out or ride would always be shitty.
I wont disclose who the member is just bc maybe he didnt know they were bent just by looking at them. And I have not contacted him since my last email stating to him rims where not 3 piece. Just want members to be informed. Truthfully my fault for not doing my research and being impulsive... |

Bro,
Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Just curious. Was this member from BC (British Columbia). I was looking at the same set a few months ago too. I'm about to pull the trigger on some HRE from a local member in the area.

It doesn't matter if you think he "didn't know" of their condition. You got a product that was materially different than its stated description.
Stop being the nice guy--you are getting eff'ed. You haven't responded to several people's advice of filing a paypal claim. Why haven't you done this? |
