Catless downpipes

I know this subject has been covered on here before and I did search however was just curious. I just installed ar design catless downpipes on my 335. I also have the jb4 installed and know that you have to turn on autoclear as far as codes go in order to take away the service engine soon light that is associated without having cats. But from what I read it also clears out the readiness codes of the o2 sensors which would make my car fail emissions. My big question is I remember reading that when it comes time for emissions testing there was a certain procedure that needs to be done in order to pass with catless. Was wondering what that was, or if it was impossible to do with catless downpipes?

I'm not worried about the visual inspection, it's just that if/when they plug it in the obd port, it will obviously fail if the readiness codes aren't set. Rather not have to take the downpipes off. I'm not in need of doing this anytime soon, as I have about a year left before testing is going to be needed. But want to prepare. I'm in the Ct area if that makes a difference as far as what procedures we do go through for emissions. For the record my car is a 2007. Or to save you guys some typing, if you can direct me to the link where i can get this info.

you need a dpfix to pass inspection through obdII readiness check. the procede and jb4 have auto code clearing, but you won't pass emissions with that enabled.

to summarzie:

-install dpfix
-turn off auto code clearing
-put some miles on your car with the above setup to set readiness

Couldn't have said it better myself. We do have the o2 sims aka dp fix available for those of you who may need them!

i thought installing the downpipes was a huge pain in the ass. i'd much rather hook up the laptop and disable canclear then swap the stock dp's back on

yes. it's $80 or so new, but can be found for $50 in the classifieds

http://www.ctemissions.com/expect-newer.html has info about emissions testing in CT. It seems like its the same as MD. I just got my emissions done and passed with DPfix. I have JB4 but DPfix just pins into your ECU, im not too sure how procedde works but im pretty sure you can install Burger motorsports DPfix with the procede in. i recommend installing it on the ecu harness side, that way if you take our the procede, you still won't throw any codes

The readiness codes can take one or more driving cycles to complete and usually by that time your CEL would be back on again.

There is no way to force readiness on BMW like there is on VAG products.

If you have a procede, you already have a built in dpfix (O2 signal modifier).

But depending on how old your harness is, you might have to switch some wires around. The older harnesses supported this, the newer ones have it disabled. If you have a newer harness just reverse this update: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=450494
