Thumbs up Cobb Stage 3 (Alpha) - vids

At an airfield event, recorded these two

Next up I'll be stacking a JB4 on top to add a tiny bit of extra boost progressively up top when meth is flowing...AFR is a perfect 11.5 all the way through and it hits that target immediately at the kick of throttle...no wild upswing/downswing that I used to experience and couldn't 100% tune out on either procede or the JB4...I don't want to run 18psi all the way to redline flashed as that leaves no room for so called meth safety..

I consider this flash/piggy (procede or jb) combo a very potent one as you have "direct" timing and fuel control which is 100% predictable and then use a piggy for progressive boost and meth safety where required...obviously that'll be "the thing" until a flash like Cobb can deal with all three

As you can see, NO MORE MISFIRES UP TOP!!!

Sorry for being OT, but how did you resolve your misfires??? I remember when you running a particular tune that it always misfired. So, was it tune related or something with your hardware?

thanks buddy..this is running 18psi@midrange, 16psi@6k, 14psi@6.5k, 13psi@7k rpm, pump gas with a slight bit of meth flow as it was near the end of the tank...IMO, its the ideal base tune to stack more boost on top progressively when meth flow is there

Wish ATR was already available and Cobb had a way of doing progressive meth but I have no problem using a piggy such as JB4 as a mini ATR and setting up a custom map6 with a meth flow based boost additive to lift the boost curve towards redline a bit more aggressively when "sufficient" meth is flowing and even further up when both meth and race gas are in there...

hitting the strip tomorrow, time to break stuff, hopefully just numbers not parts this time lol

I turned that shit off LOL

its still up in the air what it really is but I politely asked Cobb to just turn off misfire detection for me to see if it really is an "actual" misfire (loss of power, black smoke, backfires, etc) or something diagnostic tripping a false misfire code...lo and behold, they were kind enough to provide me with that feature in this map and the car doesn't misfire at all...on many platforms misfire detection itself has to be tuned so its less sensitive or turned off as it gets in the way of high HP tuning due to it being adjusted to stock power levels...

Awesome, when the Cobb is able to do all of this it will be nuts!

If that's the case, how about them creating an alpha "stage 3 race" map for you?

Then you don't need to use the JB4 to sustain boost top end.

BTW, I talked to Terry earlier today, he's open to the idea of creating a custom meth failsafe to be used on a flash tune.

trust me this stage 3 tune that's basically the stage 2 tune with load extended to 6k rpm for now is already nuts with RB spice on top

I have a map that runs 190 load to redline...that's 19-20psi...in all honesty I'm too chicken shit to run it I'd rather run this 180 load to 6k and then raise boost when meth is there, just hard letting go all the way lol

So you can't keep 180 load to redline while raising boost to 19-20psi with JUST Cobb?

Your top speed is just awesome, I think I saw you hit almost 160mph!

Can't do it "based on input from a meth flow sensor"...you can go 190 load to redline if you feel your meth kit is failproof but i don't trust any meth kit THAT much

I let off at 260kph as it was getting scary! fastest I've personally EVER gone in any car

So what would Cobb need to do in order to have what the piggys can as far as having progressive boost based on meth flow? I know I'm missing some basic stuff here so hear me out.

They just need time to do it and who knows if that's even the best way of doing it at this point..maybe we're just accustomed to doing it that way as we don't know any better at this point
