Brake Pad Life missing on CBS Menu
I had a Brake light and the red car on lift pop up on my dash last week.
Tried to find out what it was in the CBS menu, but I don't see a brake pad miles left, front or rear. It has the spark plugs, filter, oil etc showing just nothing about brake pads. I reset all of them but the brake light and car on lift comes back up. Anything? Any reason why brake pad miles left is missing ? |

the service icon is up because the brake pad sensors are not good anymore
We have experienced this when people reuse sensors with new pads. Its not to say you cant use old sensors with new pads, but sometimes the sensors wont allow a reset, and must be changed this may have nothing to do with your problem though

Interesting. That could be possible. I really think I remember them being there before in the menu but you are likely right they are not good anymore. Car has about 56k on it. Original Brakes.
Just thought they would show 0 miles left once they go bad. Taken a quick look around each caliper and looks like a little bit of life left, but I'll pull a wheel and check again. |
